Homemade Christmas Ornaments: Snowman Lightbulbs

Submitted by Angela Bond of North Carolina

"Frosty Snowman"

Recycled Lightbulbs

This ornament is special to me because I was able to recycle a burned out light bulb to create this cutie.

Supplies:

Light bulb
Acrylic paint: white, orange, blue, black, pink
Black permanent marker, fine tip
Fine tip paint brush
Pencil
Mod Podge
Clear glitter
Ribbon
Scissors
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions:

Paint bulb white and allow to dry completely. Using a pencil, lightly draw the snowman’s facial features. Fill in features with paint and outline with permanent marker. Apply thin coat of Mod Podge to bulb and sprinkle on glitter. Tap off any excess. Place bulb aside to dry. Wrap ribbon around top of bulb, gluing in place as you go. Tie a bow from the ribbon, leaving long streamers for the hanger. Glue ends of streamers to top of bulb.
