Homemade Christmas Ornaments: Walnuts

Submitted by Kelly Yarocki of BC, Canada

Walnut ornaments 1

"The Sparkling Walnut"

I picked up a bunch of walnut halves that the birds drop near my work, free! Then I went to the dollar store and picked up some fine glitter, ribbon and craft glue.

I cut the ribbon to approx 4-5 inches long and tied it together at the bottom to form a loop. Then I fitted two walnut halves together (doesn't matter if they are not perfectly matched you won't be able to tell) and put the loop in-between at the top, then I hot glued the two halves together. After I dipped the bottom of the walnut into craft glue and then into the jar/bowl of sparkles. I placed them on foil to dry. And that's that!
