Homemade Halloween Costumes for Kids: Queen of Hearts

Submitted by Stony N. of Washington

"The Queen of Hearts"

This is a ballgown style tutu dress, I saw one on pinterest and I know making tutu's is very simple, just a slip knot. There are tons of youtube videos on how to make a tutu. I was able to get several yards of tulle at a garage sale this summer for less than $10, I was not able to find the wide crochet material for the top so I purchased 2 lengths of the thinner headband width of it from the craft store for $2.00, and sewed them together to have a wider piece from top to bottom, 2 pieces of felt for the heart, and I have a $100 plus costume for under $20 and since the crochet is stretchy it will fit next year or beyond.
