Parking in DC costs on average about $10.00 a day/ $50.00 per week/ $200.00 per month/ $2400 per year. My savings on gas is $20.00 per week/ $80.00 per month or $960 per year for a total savings between parking and gas of $3,360 per year.

This savings of $3,360 per year invested over 15 years with an annual return of 10% would be worth over $100,000.00 today.

I have been working downtown for 13 years and wish I had done this when I first began working here. I hope this tip helps others!
