Tricky Savings

Money Saving Tip of the Month (featured column)
submitted by Beth T.

I like to save my change as many others do, but I discovered the change was just TOO accessible for me.

I was always taking a quarter here or a dime there, and I never ended up with very much.

So instead, I bought a Hi-C type can of juice, used it and washed it, and made a small slot in the top large enough for change and bills. But NOT large enough to get anything out!

Now my can is about 3/4 full. Every day I put in my silver change (no pennies), so I can't wait until it's full to see how much is in there.

When I open it, I'll just use another can that is sealed the same way.

Sometimes we need to TRICK ourselves into saving.

Editor's Note: You could also decorate the can for a great gift!
