Homemade Christmas Ornaments: Felt Birds

Submitted by Holly Weisert of SC

Birds of a feather 1

"Birds of a Feather Love Christmas Together"

This is another ornament that I love because it's simple and cheap. We had everything on hand, but it only requires 3 items to make a really cute ornament, so it's not bad even if you have to buy stuff to make it. You can make a bunch of them and hang them all on one tree or give them as gifts, like we did.

Red or White Felt (red for Cardinals or white for Doves)
Yarn, string or ribbon
Hot glue & gun
Paint pen (optional)

Cut out a bird shape from the felt - you will need two cut-outs per ornament and they need to match up. Make a loop with the string and put the open end between the two cut-outs. Glue the two cut-outs together, with the string in between, leaving the wings unglued so they'll flap to each side. You can use a paint pen to put a dot for the eye and/or write the year or something on there.

Super simple and inexpensive!
