Homemade Christmas Ornaments: Oyster Shells

Submitted by MJ Jacobson of RI

Oyster shell angels 1

"Sea Angel"

This "Sea Angel" is made from a broken oyster shell, another broken shell was used for wings; sea glass and pearls enhance her beauty... all things that come freely from the ocean. She is special to me as the pieces that had to fit together to make her found me rather than me finding them!

The hole in the shell is covered with sea glass and the seam between the two colors is covered with pearls. Her head is also a pearl and her halo is elastic thread strung through the pearl. Then she is covered with glitter to shine through the light.

Other than the pearls, thread and ribbon, she is a recycled angel made from nature's material that is available to anyone who walks on the beach!
