Santa Claus Light Bulb Ornaments 1

"Santa Claus Vanity Light Bulb Ornament"

You will need:

1 round vanity light bulb
White craft paint
Foam paint brush
Black permanent marker or black paint
Beige craft paint
Pink craft paint
Scrap fabric
Santa curly white hair from craft store
12" length of ribbon

Directions:

Paint the glass of a vanity light bulb with white craft paint and allow to dry.  (I used a foam paintbrush.  I also cut a hole in a cardboard shoebox and pressed the metal end of the bulb into it to act as a holder/drying rack.  I'm sure an egg carton would work great too.)

Once the white paint has dried, turn the bulb with the large part down.
With a hot glue gun, glue on the curly white hair around the bulb, starting up near the metal end on one side, down to the large end, and back up to the metal, to create Santa's beard.  Allow glue to dry.

Once the beard is attached, you can see where there is room for Santa's face to be drawn in.  Using beige craft paint (you may have to mix together some white and brown paint to reach your desired skin color), paint on Santa's face, leaving a small area at the top white for Santa's hair (his bangs).  Allow paint to completely dry.

Using a black permanent marker (or black paint on a small paintbrush) draw on two small arches for eyes. (See picture.)

Using pink craft paint and a small brush, draw on 3 circles – 1 nose, and 2 apples of the cheeks.  See picture for placement.  Let paint dry.

Once the cheeks and nose are dry, connect the beard and the nose with black permanent marker strokes, creating a moustache area.  Finally, draw a black circle for Santa's mouth.

Cut one piece of ribbon to approximately 12 inch length.  Tie ribbon into a knot around the metal end of the bulb, with the bulb in the center of the ribbon.  Tie loose ends of ribbon together, to form the hanger.

Using ribbon or scrap fabric and a hot glue gun, attach material around the metal end of the bulb to act as Santa's hat as well as to camouflage the metal and ribbon hanger.

Santa can be further personalized by using stick on google eyes.
