Check Your Receipt without Holding Up the Line

Prices, particularly sale prices, are not always perfectly programmed for cash registers. Review your receipt before leaving the store to ensure you are not overcharged.

Watching the cash register screen and asking for a correction as needed is difficult to do if you are buying many items and can hold up the line.

After I complete my purchase, I review my receipt in an out-of-the-way place at the front of the store (near the customer service counter). If I find an error, it’s easy and convenient to ask for a correction while I’m still in the store.

Some of the stores (especially grocery stores) where I shop have a price guarantee policy. If an item scans for a higher price than advertised, or marked on the shelf, you get the item for free!
