Zoo Membership Savings

Money Saving Tip of the Month (featured column)
submitted by Sandra C.

My family of three was wanting to take a trip to the local zoo. After checking out the zoo web site for prices I found that for 2 adults (plus 1 child) it was going to cost us nearly $40 to go for one day.

So I decided to check out the price for a zoo membership and found it would cost $75 for a year and it would also allow us to get into 150 zoos across the United States for free or half price.

Instead of purchasing a membership to our local zoo I started looking for zoos across the United States that offered even cheaper zoo memberships.

I ended up buying a family membership (good for 2 adults and all dependent children) to the North Carolina Aquariums for $40, good for a year. This $40 lets us go to OUR local zoo and 150 different zoos and aquariums across the country that are on the reciprocal agreement.

So my family got to go to our local zoo and now we are planning summer trips to other zoos all for the $40 family membership.

It pays to shop around for low cost memberships!
